Located on Bunker Hill, one block from The Broad Museum, the space is organized as a series of curated spatial experiences that promote the company's values. These experiences include a warm, textured Education Library, transparent private offices, open workspaces, and circulation spaces that double as fine art galleries. Structural work is one thing at ground level. It is something entirely different at nearly 600 feet above DTLA. ShubinDonaldson drafted a design based on the limitless potential that is the mainstay of BCG. An integral part of that design was a floating stairway connecting the combined suites on the 51st & 52nd floor. This stair feature, requiring extensive coordination across an endless trade list, captured the unlimited design concept, elevated the average ceiling height to 28’ (a staggering 58’ in select locations), and accentuated a glazing scope that provides uninterrupted vistas of Downtown Los Angeles and the LA Basin beyond.

This facility was built on collaboration to accomplish that singular goal. The floating stairs, wrapping like a DNA helix from the 3rd to 5th floor, establish the conduit for progressive thinking and multi-disciplinary dialogue. Clean, crisp lines and full height glass partitions throughout translate the open and transparent workflow required to accomplish what was once considered impossible.
